I have a herd of wild horses in the pasture. The caretaker of the horses, the long-suffering husband, got tired of being bumped around when he tried to get them in their places to be feed.

"SELL SOME HORSES," he yelled!

We were in the middle of hiring people to build a fence around our property and true to the business, they were busy at work doing just that one day and then gone for a week. Tempers fired with all those horses in the half of the pasture that was still usable.

I could see the writing on the wall. Beside, I had JR to ride and Nova coming up. Retirement is not an option. I have no time and too many horses.

So, I sold two horses and life was good.

The fence went up and not only did we have the horse pasture, but we also can let them out in our 6 acre yard. We gained a horse pasture!

I became aware that I didn't have any young horses to take to the beginning clinics. I actually had to borrow a horse for a beginning clinic. Oh, the sadness of that.

Somehow the word palomino (I bet it was that evil Ken Kemp that planted that palomino word in my brain. He's been trying for years!) I remembered the two extraodinary cute palomino babies that my good friend Teresa the last year! I checked with Teresa. She had two pregnant mares with due dates not too far into the future. I settled down to wait.

While I was waiting, Sue came into my life. Some of these horse things just aren't planned. They just happen.

Not too long after that, a golden palomino was born to Cameo. Cameo is a Ivory Champagne mare who was bred to Ernie Long's Whirlwind. I broke down and told Terry, the spouse, that I intended to buy a foal and I wanted him to visit Teresa and meet him. Terry has been in a good mood for a couple of months now and agreed to go. There he was...the cutest little palomino future gelding that ever was. I told Teresa sold! Terry just beamed with pride. That is how Golden Tenor came into my life.

After I got home, I got an email message from Teresa. She forgot to tell me about a Gold Champagne filly....and this was SUE's baby! Teresa asked me if I wanted her? I emailed back immediately and said SOLD! I didn't tell Terry until it was time to make the trip to get her.

This is how JJ's Dream Diva came into my life. I must say that Diva is about the most beautiful of a horse that I have ever seen. She is just STUNNING!

So, that's the story of Horse Math. Sell and buy more.
Terry is still in a good mood!
