Jim and Kathy Nichols

Jim and Kathy reside in the heart of fox trotter country, Lebanon, MO. They are the proud parents of the Nichols' sisters, Mitzi and Monica. Both daughters now have their own places Daugherty Stables, Donnie and Monica (Nichols) Daugherty and Our Place, Mitzi. Jim has retired from teaching and coaching in the public school system and is now only the girls' personal ground coach. He will still assist a kid or two every so often to help them excel in basketball, softball or baseball. Kathy is also retired from teaching in the public school system an elementary teacher, mainly kindergarten.

Jim and Kathy continue to raise Missouri Foxtrotters on their own and along with both daughters. They stand The Legend's Good Time, 2000 Amateur Owned and Trained WGC and full brother to The Legend's First Lady, and all their broodmares have been raised in the family. Some of them will even go back to 'June', whom Jim showed and won the model mare class in 1964 (picture is in the Hall of Fame Room at Ava, MO). You still see Jim in the show ring today, but you'll only see Kathy mounted up on the trail!!
