It was called “Follow the Leader”. We couldn’t believe it. An obstacle course at liberty.\u00a0 I was fairly confident that Nova and I would do well.\u00a0 Were we going to start, run around a barrel and come home? That’s all I could imagine.<\/p>\n
Imagine my surprise when the facility put up a real obstacle course, including a tipping bridge.\u00a0<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0\u00a0Deer head mounted on one\u00a0long arena rail\u00a0and you needed to go close to it.<\/p>\n
2. Scary stack of haybales with a scary Scarecrow stuck in the top of the bales with decorative gourds and stuff around it.<\/p>\n
3. Tipping bridge<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0 3 Barrels to weave thru<\/p>\n
5. pole on the ground<\/p>\n
6. Tarp<\/p>\n
7.\u00a0 Car Wash stand with scary things hanging down.\u00a0 The horse was to go thru the hangy down things..one of which was a cardboard black cat.<\/p>\n
GOOD GAD!\u00a0 NO WAY! Where would I lose her?<\/p>\n
This was a timed event.\u00a0 You got seconds added to your score if you didn’t complete the obstacle.\u00a0 Most of the horses wouldn’t get on the tipping bridge.<\/p>\n
Nova and I ran through all the obstacles except the what?\u00a0 Did she actually\u00a0cross the tipping bridge at liberty?\u00a0 Yes she did…without hesitation. Was she scared of the deer head.\u00a0 Nope, she didn’t even notice it. What about the carwash scary obstacle.\u00a0 Piece of cake to go thru that!<\/p>\n
We got second place because she wanted to eat the hay at the scary haybale scarecrow obstacle.\u00a0 I had to drive her away from all that food with my carrot stick…with a lot of effort! Then she ran right with me over the bride, thru the barrels, crossed the pole, over the tarp and thru the car wash.<\/p>\n
WHEW!!! Breathing Hard.<\/p>\n
I never imagined she would do it all!\u00a0<\/p>\n
