{"id":2305,"date":"2012-09-26T21:30:53","date_gmt":"2012-09-27T02:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mofoxtrot.com\/viewpoint\/?p=2305"},"modified":"2012-09-26T21:48:26","modified_gmt":"2012-09-27T02:48:26","slug":"back-to-lucky-star-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mofoxtrot.com\/viewpoint\/back-to-lucky-star-i\/","title":{"rendered":"Back to Lucky Star I"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had about three rides on Lucky Star in a row where he didn&#8217;t kick up in protest at going forward. \u00a0People in my arena of horsemanship believe in fixing problems on the ground instead of in the saddle. \u00a0Lucky Star and I have had many conversations human to horse &#8211; ground to ground. \u00a0My conversation is move and keep moving. \u00a0His conversation is move and immediately stop or slow down. \u00a0We&#8217;ve had many different conversations about this. \u00a0My last outing with Lucky Star was about the best conversation we&#8217;ve had about going forward. \u00a0We even did transitions where I asked him to slow down or stop before he decided to slow down to a stop.<\/p>\n<p>Transitions faster and slower while maintaining the gait that I asked for? \u00a0What a concept for Lucky!<\/p>\n<p>Amazing, he did the best when I rode him too. \u00a0Lucky Star even cantered when I asked him. \u00a0We are nearly back to where we were this past spring!<\/p>\n<p>Lucky Star is a horse that needs committed firm loving, breaks and rewards.
