{"id":3025,"date":"2014-07-16T21:46:50","date_gmt":"2014-07-17T02:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mofoxtrot.com\/viewpoint\/?p=3025"},"modified":"2014-07-16T21:51:47","modified_gmt":"2014-07-17T02:51:47","slug":"lucky-star-the-punk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mofoxtrot.com\/viewpoint\/lucky-star-the-punk\/","title":{"rendered":"Lucky Star, the Punk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I might have reported that Lucky Star and I had a giant argument last Friday. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t get it resolved on Saturday. \u00a0I thought it was resolved on Tuesday, but the labor strike was still ongoing as of tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Our arguments involve too much work expectations.<\/p>\n<p>So tonight, I was able to play with Lucky in a round pen..at liberty. \u00a0He had his saddle on as I expected to ride. \u00a0I asked him to move around the round pen and he told me how he felt about that. \u00a0He does front leg bucks. \u00a0He puts his head down and hops around. \u00a0He never kicks up his back legs in a real buck. \u00a0He just hops around with his head down. \u00a0Occasionally, he aimed a hind foot at me. \u00a0I was a long way from him and in no danger. \u00a0It is the middle finger thing. \u00a0Lucky was giving me the middle finger. \u00a0We had to stop when the saddle came up on his neck instead of on his back. I loosed it up, moved it back and tightened it up. \u00a0Soon, we were doing darn well in the round pen. \u00a0He cantered one entire circle both ways. \u00a0That is magnificent for Lucky.<\/p>\n<p>Off we went into the big arena. \u00a0We were doing well online, so I decided he could walk around me at liberty. \u00a0He did great. \u00a0Then I decided he should speed up. \u00a0He sped up all righty with his half bucks again and his statement of disdain. \u00a0When his saddle slid up to his neck again, we had to stop and get some relief. \u00a0I put the saddle back in place and tightened it up again.<\/p>\n<p>Off he went again with his statement of disdain and half bucks. \u00a0It didn&#8217;t take too long before the saddle came up again.<\/p>\n<p>I had to take off the saddle in the middle of the sand arena and we went at it again. \u00a0No saddle&#8230;No halter&#8230;only the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, he was able to trot a circle around me both directions in a dignified manner&#8230;.at liberty!<\/p>\n<p>Then we rode. \u00a0The argument might be over.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow is a blessed trail ride where he will be most willing to go!<\/p>\n<p>PS: \u00a0Cisco, the willing, is now in training at For the Horse Ranch with Nichole Copple! \u00a0What a change it will be for me to ride a willing horse. \u00a0I might dismount and faint in astonishment of how &#8220;willing&#8221; feels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I might have reported that Lucky Star and I had a giant argument last Friday. \u00a0We didn&#8217;t get it resolved on Saturday. \u00a0I thought it was resolved on Tuesday, but the labor strike was still ongoing as of tonight.
