I learned a lot from Cisco today. \u00a0The big lesson is how to get really high stacked hay bales down on the ground. \u00a0I’ve got hay stacked in my barn. \u00a0Stalls are on one side and hay is on about half of the other side. \u00a0The hay is stacked about four bales over my head. \u00a0So it takes about four bales to equal my height and then add four bales on top of that and you picture the hay tower. \u00a0I’ve misplaced my gadget to drag a bale off the stack. \u00a0Cisco taught me today that he can unstack a tower of hay and not die in the process. \u00a0Sadly, I wasn’t in the barn to see this. \u00a0Of course if I had of been in the barn, I could have crushed by either a hay bale or Cisco getting out of the way of the falling bales. \u00a0whew.<\/p>\n

Here’s the story. Time to ride. \u00a0It’s been too hot for me to ride all this week. \u00a0Today is cool enough to ride. \u00a0 I went to the barn to get Cisco. \u00a0The horses stay in the barn during the day. \u00a0There are fans to blow the worst of the flies off them. \u00a0It is a comfortable shady place. \u00a0Back to the story. \u00a0I picked up the halter and turned toward Cisco. \u00a0Cisco turned around and left the stall. \u00a0Cisco said to me in non verbal language. \u00a0I don’t want to be with you mom. \u00a0I don’t want to go and run and sweat while you ride me. \u00a0It’s just not fun for me mom. \u00a0Take Lucky.<\/p>\n

ahhhhh! \u00a0I hate those non verbal words from Cisco. \u00a0He is supposed to want to be with me, even though I ask him to run around in this humid hot weather. \u00a0I went into the horse part of the barn and pasture and stalked Cisco until he purposely got himself back in a stall and then I had him trapped. \u00a0At least he turned to face me and I put on the halter.<\/p>\n

Mom, you left your hat and favorite sunglasses here last week!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We did ride. \u00a0We practiced our flying lead change preparation and attempts. \u00a0We quit before he got horribly sweaty and returned home. \u00a0Now the plan. \u00a0I’m going to let him out in the yard where he can eat the yummy grass. \u00a0Plus I’m going to wash his trail. \u00a0His tail has itchy dandruff. \u00a0He will so appreciate getting rid of the itchy tail.<\/p>\n

Cisco didn’t appear to be thrilled with his bath. \u00a0His non verbal language was not positive. \u00a0He spoke to me in these words, “Stop getting water in my face! \u00a0I’ve never heard the water stream hit the barn before. \u00a0What is that scary noise and you have me tied up! \u00a0I can’t run to get away in case the noise wants to eat me. \u00a0You want to put my tail into a big bucket of water? \u00a0What the heck?” \u00a0Thank goodness you are done and I can eat grass in peace now. Thanks for turning me loose.”<\/p>\n

You can see how great of a horsemanship person I am to be able to translate Cisco’s feelings.<\/p>\n

Now I’m going to get some horse feed for him to make him feel extra special. \u00a0I’m going to put it in the trailer so he will have great love for the trailer.<\/p>\n

Cisco, “Bucket rattle! \u00a0Food Food! \u00a0Mom has food for me! \u00a0oh wait. \u00a0She’s putting it in the trailer. \u00a0That means she is going to put me in the trailer and take me somewhere to run and sweat. \u00a0Snort! I’m not going near that bucket of food.”<\/p>\n

I decided to leave Cisco at peace with all that yard grass. \u00a0He will eventually go and eat the feed in the bucket. \u00a0I drive to the gate and shut it. \u00a0Cisco has fooled me before and left the property even though he was the only horse loose and his herd was in the pasture. \u00a0Yes, he has broken the horse law of leaving the herd.<\/p>\n

I drove back and didn’t see Cisco outside. \u00a0I went to check on him and discovered him eating hay in the barn. \u00a0Four bales had fallen off a stacked hay tower. \u00a0Cisco, Lucky Star and Delta were munching hay. \u00a0I didn’t see any blood on Cisco. \u00a0He took those hay bales crashing down without getting hurt. \u00a0I gave Sweetie some hay as none of the flying hay bales landed near her stall. \u00a0Cisco turned around and came toward me.<\/p>\n

Cisco, “I would like to get into the stall mom. \u00a0The fans are all blowing air into the stalls and I’m on the other side. I don’t want to eat grass. \u00a0I want to be inside the barn eating hay with the fan blowing on me.” \u00a0(Cisco”s mom opened the stall door to where Sweetie {Cisco’s girlfriend} was standing.) \u00a0“Get out of the way Sweetie, I’m coming in. \u00a0Move!”<\/p>\n

I left the happy horses chomping on hay. \u00a0I drove back and opened the gate. \u00a0I’ll have to spend undemanding time with Cisco to get his love of me back to 110%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
