Once Upon a Time<\/p>\n
A person discovered and rode a gaited horse, not a fox Trotter.\u00a0 \u00a0 She fell in love with the breed, but that particular breed was not abundant in our area.\u00a0 Then\u00a0she discovered the fox Trotter breed and started riding and breeding Fox Trotters.<\/p>\n
Later friend of hers showed her a video of a few horses of the non abundant breed. She fell in love with one of the horses for sale.\u00a0 Her friend was buying two horses so our person bought the horse she fell in love with on the video. That horse came from Pennsylvania with a foal in her belly.<\/p>\n
Fast forward three years.\u00a0 I took a good friend of mine, seated in this room, to visit the Fox Trotter person.\u00a0 My friend hopped on a three year old chocolate colored gaited\u00a0 horse.\u00a0 She rode that 3 year old wearing only a halter around the arena.\u00a0 I was amazed at this horse\u2019s confidence and loving personality.<\/p>\n
The story is that I forced Hope Robinson to buy Star\u2019s Chocolate Chip from Teresa Osborn.<\/p>\n
What an amazing horse he was for Hope!<\/p>\n
I was right to force her to buy Chip!<\/p>\n
Hope studied and attended clinics with Jenny and Tony Vaught.\u00a0 We took up trail riding at James A Reed park.\u00a0 The first year she complained about Chip trotting and suffered some private place abrasions. She didn\u2019t want to go fast like I wanted.\u00a0 The 2nd year of our trail riding and whining about the rough trot, I looked at Chip\u2019s gait and told Hope that he was pacing!\u00a0 Oh!<\/p>\n
We then worked on getting a flat foot walk and a running walk.\u00a0 I got to go fast then!<\/p>\n
Hope took up with real trail riders who ride in forests and up and down steep hills.\u00a0 After a year of that, I watched Hope and Chip ride in a Dressage clinic.\u00a0 Chip had changed his running walk to a fox trot!\u00a0 I was so proud of Chip!<\/p>\n
Chip has spent many hours in club activities as has Hope. We want to honor Chip.<\/p>\n
After Chip left us, Hope needed a calm, non reactive trail horse.\u00a0 I happened to have a horse that hates to react, and so many times, hates to move.\u00a0 He told me time and time again, \u201cI am destined to be a trail horse, not an arena horse.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019d like to report that Lucky Star is an amazing trail horse with Hope!<\/p>\n
Hope, Lucky Star wanted me to give you this piece of paper.<\/p>\n
Many times in all the years Hope has been with the club, she has told people that she is a member of this club, but doesn\u2019t own a Fox Trotter.<\/p>\n
