We eat our evening meal at the Wine Stop. \u00a0It has a sticky entry door and with incessant rain, the wood door has sweat and is hard to push open.<\/p>\n
The staff open the door for me to make it easier to get Terry and the wheel chair in. \u00a0We walked by a couple sitting near the door. \u00a0The man was wearing a cowboy hat. \u00a0That is unusual in Missouri. \u00a0Some time went by and the cowboy walked past me and back to his table. \u00a0He was wearing cowboy boots. \u00a0When he got back to his chair, I discerned his boots were wearing spurs. \u00a0What! \u00a0Did he just come from riding a horse? \u00a0Wow. I also think he was wearing a buckle. \u00a0A buckle usually means he won it in a horse sport. \u00a0Oh my!<\/p>\n
The time of the day came when the customers started coming in. \u00a0Cowboy saw the door was difficult to open and he came to the rescue. \u00a0Every time a customer came to the door, he opened the stubborn door. \u00a0Wow, I thought. This is how a real cowboy acts.<\/p>\n
Next the cowgirl made the same trip past me and returned. \u00a0Oh my! \u00a0She was wearing boots to and I thought I saw a flash of a buckle.<\/p>\n
Boy Howdy, I’ve got a horse couple. \u00a0I thought about going over and telling them about my horse life, but I decided not to be ridiculous.<\/p>\n
Customers continued to come in and cowboy continued to open the door.<\/p>\n
Terry and I were ready to leave and I decided to go to the cowboy table and tell the cowboy he was honoring the cowboy tradition.<\/p>\n
So I did. \u00a0Then I asked if both of them were wearing a buckle. \u00a0Yes, they said. \u00a0However, they both showed me just a plain flashy belt buckle, not a “silver prize buckle”. \u00a0I asked if they had just come from a horse sport.<\/p>\n
Oh, the woman said, \u00a0“We just went and petted a horse and it was smelly.’<\/p>\n
WHAT! \u00a0These are not horse people! \u00a0Smelly! \u00a0Manure is not smelly. \u00a0Good Lord! \u00a0I have been fooled by complete non horse people!<\/p>\n
