What did she do today, Susan?<\/p>\n

It’s cold here, in the lower 20 degrees, there is snow on the ground. \u00a0Water is always something to worry about. The lake has just melted and for perhaps, today, there is water available for the horses to drink. \u00a0The horses have heated buckets in their run-in stalls. We have to worry about the water pump freezing, and the hose. \u00a0If the hose doesn’t work (because I didn’t drain it after using it)\u00a0or it refuses to fasten on to the pump (occasionally my freezing fingers can’t screw the damn thing on), I carry the six buckets per day to their heated stall buckets. \u00a0They prefer heated water better than ice cold lake water anyway.<\/p>\n

This year I bought a metal hose. \u00a0It bends. \u00a0It’s really cool. \u00a0The rubber hoses eventually get a leak and have to be replaced. \u00a0I had good thoughts about the metal hose lasting.<\/p>\n

Have I ever mentioned Fancy is a left brain extrovert with a smart brain containing love of play and curiosity? She is a \u201cmouthy horse\u201d. \u00a0She loves to check everything out with her mouth. \u00a0Hey, she doesn\u2019t have hands, what is she to do?<\/p>\n

A human left the hose sprayer in a heated water bucket so it wouldn\u2019t freeze. \u00a0The human should have known better. \u00a0All Fancy has to occupy her mind during the horrid cold days is to stand around in the run-in stalls and eat hay. \u00a0Thankfully, she did not eat the sprayer.<\/p>\n

Nope, she pulled the entire 25 foot hose into the stall and tried to eat it. \u00a0There are places where the metal has been crushed. \u00a0When I saw the hose living in the stall this morning, my brain froze in horror.<\/p>\n

My fingers froze this morning before I could screw the hose onto the water pump. \u00a0I have no idea if I have a workable hose or not. \u00a0My destiny is to carry the large bucket to dump the water in the three heated buckets, twice a day. What great exercise \u00a0for many of my body muscles!<\/p>\n
