I\u2019m in a horse development program something like Karate. \u00a0It\u2019s called Parelli Levels Program. \u00a0We are given tasks to do in four different areas: \u00a0Finesse, Free Style, On-Line and Liberty and we get different color ropes when we pass a Level. \u00a0I\u2019m working on getting my black rope with Fancy. \u00a0It\u2019s the highest level for a non professional. \u00a0 I have passed L4 Finesse with Fancy.<\/p>\n

Now I have to do all the required tasks for Free Style without using a bridle. \u00a0You can have the bridle on your horse, just don\u2019t use it. \u00a0There is cantering, walking \u00a0jumping and trotting tasks along with side pass and back. \u00a0You can also use one or two carrot sticks.<\/p>\n

\nFancy and I are ready! \u00a0We can do all this. \u00a0I\u2019ve got her neck rope on, bridle is there for safety. \u00a0We practiced. \u00a0I lied about being ready. \u00a0During our cantering practice, Fancy\u2019s GO personality came out. Her slowing down personality during the canter failed to show up. \u00a0Pulling back on the rope as the signal to slow down wasn\u2019t working. \u00a0Dang.<\/p>\n

On the truck and trailer ride home, my right arm bicep muscles, were very sore. \u00a0What? \u00a0Could I actually been pulling back that hard with the neck rope to slow her down.<\/p>\n

later it occurred to me I wasn\u2019t holding my carrot stick. \u00a0I was going too fast to think about using a carrot stick to turn anyway!<\/p>\n

Good Lordy! \u00a0I\u2019ve missed a signal. \u00a0Fancy secretly knows how to slow down when my body asks, but she likes to GO. \u00a0The rope pulling on her neck doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n

I’m a poor horse developer! \u00a0My arm is really sore. \u00a0I\u2019m mad at my self and it hurts to lift my right arm higher up on the steering wheel.<\/p>\n
