We rode tonight with a saddlebred show horse.\u00a0 Yep\u00a0 We had a great time with Katie and Feather.<\/p>\n
We rode.\u00a0 One of us rested while the other rode.\u00a0 We thought it might be good if Sue and I rested while Feather cantered.<\/p>\n
It was hot and rest periods were essential<\/p>\n
Katie hasn’t seen Sue and I together for a while and she could tell the difference in my tension..none.\u00a0 We marveled over how different\u00a0Sue and I\u00a0both look..and it a fairly short time period.<\/p>\n
I told Katie that Sue was was getting too close.\u00a0 Katie was shocked.\u00a0 She decided to run off from us.\u00a0 She told Feather to speed up into his fast trot.\u00a0 She looked back and we were right on her rear…like a tail gaiting car.\u00a0 Only it was Sue trying to gait right into Feather’s tail.<\/p>\n
Sue and I fox trotted.\u00a0 We broke into a nice banging hard trot.\u00a0 At the same spot in the arena..an open spot where something caught her eye..we dropped into the pace.\u00a0 I had to slow her down when we paced and fix it.\u00a0 We fixed the pace, slightly cut a couple of corners and we were back tail-gaiting Feather again.<\/p>\n
We kept that up for quite a while.\u00a0 I don’t think I’ve ever rode Sue at speeds like that for more than a half length down the larger arena.\u00a0 Wowsa!<\/p>\n
Eventually, our fox trot smoothed out and we were still going at break neck speed.<\/p>\n
Good Golly Ms Molly!\u00a0 We are going to do more of that!<\/p>\n
