{"id":854,"date":"2008-07-30T23:21:12","date_gmt":"2008-07-31T04:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mofoxtrot.com\/viewpoint\/?p=854"},"modified":"2010-10-07T23:21:48","modified_gmt":"2010-10-08T04:21:48","slug":"854","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mofoxtrot.com\/viewpoint\/854\/","title":{"rendered":"Sue &#8211; How Do You Do Fluidity?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">FLUIDITY CLINIC- The last time I rode Sue in an indoor clinic, I was overcome by emotional non-fitness by\u00a0noon and had to quit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">This indoor arena clinic was full of horses and Sue and I rode two days.\u00a0 What a difference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">The first day when we first started riding, Tony told me I didn&#8217;t look fully relaxed.\u00a0 I thought I hid it well, but there it was&#8230;tension.\u00a0 We can&#8217;t have tension in a Fluidity Clinic!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">So, I started to whistle without sound.\u00a0 Amazing how whistling, even when you don&#8217;t produce noise will make you relax.\u00a0 You purse your lips, blow air out and your body relaxes&#8230;like automatic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">I whistled (soundlessly)\u00a0until I didn&#8217;t need to anymore.\u00a0No one noticed I looked weird -pursing my lips,\u00a0looking like a fish mouth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Sue didn&#8217;t spook while I was riding her.\u00a0 What she did do, was refuse to go thru spots where she had to be too close to other horses.\u00a0 She is claustrophobic in tight spots.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">She would pass horses just fine unless two or more horses were\u00a0close together. Then we just came to a halt and our feet stuck into the arena sand.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">The bigger horse had a bigger bubble.\u00a0 We had a draft cross in the class and it took more room for Sue to be able to get around that horse!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Sue and I played the squeeze game (with\u00a0the other horses)\u00a0for two days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Seven year old Caitlyn got permission from her father to ride Sue at the end of the first day.\u00a0 Caitlyn rode in half the arena&#8230;all the participant horses were gathered up in the other half.\u00a0 Caitlyn got Sue to canter.\u00a0 I cheered!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">At the end of the 2nd day, Caitlyn got to ride Sue again.\u00a0 This time as she rode past where her little brother was playing out of the arena in the sand&#8230;well.\u00a0 Little brother threw something up as they went past and Sue leaped sideways to get away.\u00a0 Caitlyn told me she came within a hair of falling off.\u00a0 whew!\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">I&#8217;m glad it wasn&#8217;t me riding and I&#8217;m glad I didn&#8217;t see it.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FLUIDITY CLINIC- The last time I rode Sue in an indoor clinic, I was overcome by emotional non-fitness by\u00a0noon and had to quit.
