Whirlwind’s Golden Tenor is my horse, ridden by Sharon Sheppard. My son is an opera singer, thus the name, Tenor. Tenor’s sire was the Whirlwind, the black horse used many years at the Celebration to honor those who died that year. I bought Tenor from Teresa Osborn when he was a weanling because I didn’t have enough horses…haha. When he was young, I had visitors from Florida, clients of Tony and Jenny. Tenor had the run of my yard then. The visitors came and we sat down on hay bales…
Parelli Level 4 Liberty Audition Preparation
Pffft! Level 4 Parelli Liberty compulsory tasks will be so so very easy with Fancy, I should be required to be blindfolded. But today my fun first time practicing the Liberty requirements with Fancy made the “pffti” go away. Dang! Because I had a “natural” trainer (who trained mules for WW I) from age eleven to age 18 with a large pony and a slightly prior mistreated American Saddlebred, I knew everything about horses plus spent my adult years four hours per week under natural horsemanship trainers, Tony and Jenny Vaught,…
Tosca Starring Nathan Granner in Opera Orlando-Susan Stories
I arrived at Orlando airport. It’s an enormous airport with different terminals. After you get off the plane, a train takes you to the baggage claim area. Luckily my baggage showed up. I had pre-rented a car from Budget. After a hike past and then back, I found the Budget counter. Lordy, there was a line! Ick. But the line moved faster than I thought even though people being waited on appeared to stand forever with a customer service agent. I stood in line to get my rental car. It…
Story Must Be Told – Best Fourth of July (not)
This story starts Badly, changes to Good, and ends Sickeningly. Enjoy my life. I went to my neighbor's yard to watch the fireworks on the evening of the Fourth. Whoops, alcohol. I must have alcohol to celebrate! Oh, I have wine bottles in my car, thank goodness. My neighbor gave me about six bottles of wine this Christmas. I kept the box of bottles in my car in case I needed wine outside of a restaurant. We almost drank the wine at the big horse show this Spring but failed.…
Fancy, the Queen of Mississippi, Seeks Better Living Quarters
I loaned Fancy to Beth Pearson for her to ride in a competition in southern Missouri at the World Fox Trotter Headquarters. It went well. Fancy and Beth and Fancy competed in a sport called Sorting. Sorting is moving numbered cows in order from one large round pen to an adjoining large round pen. The contestants are two horse and rider partners. You can have three different riding partners in the competition. Beth took Fancy home to prepare for the great Spring Show at Ava in June 2025. They will…
