When we got in the arena, Fancy was very calm. We each got to walk thru the tight herd of cows. Fancy was scared to get too close. The owner went to the herd to help Fancy, but started driving the hotdog straight towards Fancy. I was saying, “Don’t drive the cows at her”. The herd magically split before Fancy decided to bolt! Fancy was able to go into the spread out cow herd. She looked relaxed after a few moments.
Next all cows went out and one cow driven into the arena for each horse. We were to drive the cow up and back on long wall. Fancy and I were last. My belief is the guy thought we were green cow horse because she was frightened with the herd situation. He gave us the slowest, least energetic cow! Fancy bit it on the back or rear more to get it to move! When we were face to face with the unmoving cow, she pawed at it, stomped her foot and the most amazing….she hopped up on her front feet and snaked her head at it. She was very entertaining!
After a long wait, we got our second cow which had “go slow”, stop and then run for the other wall. It got away from us once. We ran or walked or turned that cow up and down that wall! Fancy and I were awesome!
Cows were former chute roping cows so much of the time, they ran straight. We each got a lot of cow time.
Yes I had fun!
