Fancy was a super star today. I have Erin Patterson ride her two days a week. She rode her today and did awesome flying changes. Sweaty when I rode, but got all the flying changes I asked for.
Sometimes when Fancy canters, I bounce. It has nothing to do with flying changes…just regular cantering. I’ve tried to lean back, maybe my knees are braced, no. It’s embarrassing as I make noise when bouncing in the saddle. People think I can’t ride! It’s embarasing. Sometimes, relief comes and we get a canter where I can relax, no bouncing
Fancy doesn’t appear to be bracing her front legs. I can’t figure it out. Today I asked Erin why I was bouncing.
Erin explained it: Fancy is going lateral…like a pace. Erin asks her to speed up to fix it. It works for me too, but didn’t understand what was going on under there and didn’t know how to fix it!
Fifty degree day with sunshine today in winter Midwest. We rode outside up and down the driveway. Her fox trot is exquisite. I was in heaven.
Tomorrow snow/rain and start of single degree weather.
Scream.
No pig drama today. I fed her close by the pigs and she relaxed. She relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.
Pig drama is truly fixed. Pigs moved out to their outdoor home which makes them a neighbor to Fancy’s turn out. Fancy and her pasture mate watched the pigs for a while without hysteria and they soon lost interest in them. When Fancy was able to see the pigs, no big deal. That is the Fancy we know!
