I’m a Trainer!

I do not receive money for training thus maintaining my amateur status. Trainer Factoids: Ethical horse trainers ride their training horses an average of five days a week. Ethical trainers ride their training horses in good and bad weather.Normally, the trainer is better than the the person who hires the trainer. I'm a trainer now. It is the hottest day of the year and I rode. I rode in an indoor arena with one big fan. The horse creates a breeze for the rider when out of fan range. I…

Back on Track!

A month of back pain, back bones out of place is over. Fancy is "back" on track of my dream goal! Surely no one can ever forget my passion to do flying lead changes to pass the requirements of the Parelli Level 4 Tests! Fancy has given me conditions and I have failed all spring and summer to meet her requirements. She has been secretly teaching me another requirement and I recently became aware of the last condition. Fancy has been trying to do a flying change before I asked.…

Fancy Pants

This afternoon, the temperature was in the 80's, but the killer humidity had gone away. I made the decision to play ground games with Fancy. It has been so hot, you just want to get the saddle on and ride. Ground games can kill a person my age in this heat and humidity. Fancy and I went to the big arena. The big arena is directly next to her own turn out arena with a gravel driveway in between. What she sees in her pasture is what she sees in…

I don't remember much about that conversation except that I asked Lydia to apologize to Sage as she suffered from my beginner rider errors. Sage answered, "Don't think that. You have taken care of…

It is Hope’s Fault

Fancy:  Why are you riding me in the afternoon when it is so dang hot? Susan:  Hope wanted to ride Lucky with us this afternoon. Fancy:  This is Hope's fault?  The woman sitting on Lucky? Susan:  Yes.  It's Hope's fault Fancy:  Can I bite Hope? Susan:  No.  Lucky will protect her. Fancy:  It's too darn hot when you have to give me a bath before you ride me. Susan:  I'm sorry.  You were sweaty with a crust of sweat dirt.  We wouldn't want your saddle pad to get crusty sweat-grit dirty.  It's Hope's fault. Fancy:  Where is my bridle and bit?  How dare you ride me…
