What a DAY!

I awoke at the crack of post dawn about two hours before my normal awakening time of 9:30am…or sometimes 10:00am.  I gave up two hours of beauty sleep to start cooking.  Cooking!?  It's a word not usually associated with the person you know as me. My senior fitness class at Anytime Fitness in Pleasant Hill is having a pot luck Christmas Lunch today.  I had signed up to bring a food.  I struggled out of bed and into razor sharp consciousness.  Undertaking a cooking experience is fraught with danger for…

No Greater Honor-Mention from Dr Patrick Handley

Dr. Patrick Handley's Facebook Page about Humanality: "Insight of the week: I received a wonderful message from youthful, 70 year old Parelli student Marilee Donovan. She thanked me for the positive, strengths-based orientation of the Humanality report and commented about how she was just now, at this stage in her life, discovering her true self and unleashing many of the personality strengths she had suppressed over the years. Marilee is embracing the RBI strengths of her personality (as well she should) and embracing her softer, more introspective side. I really…

Life Bike Nine

In my work life, occasionally, I get to travel.  Travel involved my great co-worker and best friend Roberta. Trips were monumental adventures.  I've been telling Roberta all about the great fun I'm having on a bike.  She's interested.  She decided that she needed a bike of her own.  She bought a beautiful maroon bike.  Almost the next day, something was mentioned about a trip to Iowa.  Roberta and I were going to be on the road again and we were thrilled. I told Roberta that I wanted to take my bike…

Lucky Star – RESPECT

I've been out of commission for five weeks.  For the first few of those weeks, I could barely make it out to the barn.  Horses did fine.  They have plenty of grass and water. Lucky has had five weeks of being Mr. Dominant Boss of the world.  "I'll move when I want.  I am boss of the world, sun, moon and solar system." Today, I've been declared officially well.  My first day to ride.  Lucky and me.  Lucky having a tough time doing three correct hind quarter turns.  That's one…

LIFE BIKE SEVEN

We are in the early 90's.  Cell phones are on the verge of being invented at a price a regular person could afford.  They were a little bit bigger than what we are used to now.  In fact, they were a bag phone. They came in a soft bag and you could plug them into the cigarette lighter in your car.  Cell phones came into our lives and nothing was ever the same again.    My husband bought my phone for me as a surprise.  His thought was that I…
